Applying

Resizing and Uploading Images

Artists may submit up to 6 works. Images of work must reflect the exact piece that we would receive should it be selected. Images must be in jpg format and high quality, 2MB max per image. If applying with 3D work, editing multiple views together to comprise one image is acceptable. Otherwise, we ask for just 1 jpg per artwork submission. Images are not necessary to upload as a representation of audio or video works, unless you are proposing a specific installation. We ask for a link to steam your audio or video work.

Please visit our FAQ page for more information regarding image resizing.

Label each image file as follows:

Lastname_Firstname_1 (up to #6, to identify each artwork). This makes your work easily identifiable. Do not use the actual Title of the artwork represented in the file label name. There is a separate box in the form to enter your artwork’s Title.

Entry Fee

1-3 for $25, or 4-6 for $40.  You may pay online using a Paypal account or Credit Card as the last step of the application form. If you prefer, you may pay via check by mail or drop-off. Payment must be received by the deadline in order for your work to be considered. There are no refunds regardless of the juror’s decision.

Exhibiting

Selected Work Timeline

The deadline for submission is Sunday November 5. Artists will be notified of their status via e-mail by Friday December 22.  If your work is selected, it must arrive presentation ready (framed or with appropriate installation materials).  Shipped work must be received by Thursday February 8, in reusable wrapping with check or prepaid label for return shipping. In-person drop-off will be held on Sunday February 11, 3-5pm. All work must be received at Gallery 263 by 5pm on Sunday, February 11th. Work must remain on exhibit through Saturday March 17. Pickups must be arranged for Sunday March 18. Shipped work will be returned the following week.

Gallery 263 reserves the right to reject accepted artwork if, upon arrival and viewing of the artwork, the quality of the work does not match the images it was represented by, or if the artist violates the artwork size restrictions.

Sales

Work for sale must be priced by the artist. Gallery 263 does not sell art, and all inquiries will be directed to the artist. Gallery 263 does not take a commission for sales, however we suggest a 30% donation. Donations from artwork sales contribute to supporting the mission, programming and sustainability of Gallery 263.
If work is not for sale, (NFS) a value must be stated regardless. The value of NFS works will not be publicly disclosed.
