Current open calls for submission

Call for exhibition proposals for fall 2024 →

At this point in time, Gallery 263 does not review portfolios or offer gallery representation. If you would like to show your work at the gallery, please submit to one of our opportunities.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions are at the core of Gallery 263’s mission and programming. Since establishing our space as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2010, the gallery has been developing a rich spectrum of opportunities for artists throughout the region and the country to present their work and join our community. Each year, we host approximately 10 to 15 four or five-week exhibitions.

Exhibition Proposal Series

Through our Exhibition Proposal Series (EPS), artists and curators of all experience levels have the opportunity to collaborate with Gallery 263 staff to organize and present concept driven, self-curated exhibitions in our storefront gallery.

Juried exhibitions

Gallery 263 hosts group exhibitions juried by esteemed artists, curators, and creatives. Hosting juried exhibitions allows the gallery to showcase a wide variety of artists and artworks and to present compelling exhibitions.

Small Works Project

The Gallery 263 Small Works Project currently presents the work of 12 artists in flat files in the gallery. Each of these artists has work on view for one year. After this time, a new cohort is selected. Small Works Project artists are chosen as part of a competitive jury process.

Community Critique Night

We invite those in the Boston arts community to show their work and participate in this monthly two-hour critique event. Receive feedback on your art and meet other local artists and art lovers.

Artist-in-Residence Program

Each summer, Gallery 263 offers our 700-square-foot space to artists of all media and experience levels. We strive to give the local Boston and Cambridge community a stake in the process, not just the product, of art making. From mural painting to textile arts, mold making to photography, and installation to community projects—our artist residencies have drawn passionate artists of all media.

Take-a-Zine, Leave-a-Zine

Gallery 263 is a participant of Take-a-Zine, Leave-a-Zine, a project that plants community-run bookstands across Massachusetts to foster the trade of zines, art books, and printed matter. We encourage the public to use gallery’s box, which is located on the green side door on Puntam Avenue.
